FixitPosted by Jan Sat, June 17, 2017 14:15:08
Sorry about confusion re. June Fixit. No blog went on as I hadn't had details from Tony.

July Fixit is at the Redmires end of Wyming Brook. Parking at the top near the road.

We will be widening the footpath along the brook.
Digging out the bank.
Cutting back bushes and marsh grass.
Bit of drainage work, widening and deepening a ditch.

Bring digging and cutting tools and wellies.

Tony has sent one of his rangers to review the job, so there may be another blog if the details change.

If not see you there at 10am

Anyone needing a lift, let me know.

Fixit May 8th

FixitPosted by Jan Thu, April 20, 2017 13:10:51
Fixit on May 8th will be back at Ringinglow Sheephill Road just over the stile on The Sheffield Round Walk. It is the same area where we sunk the drainage pipes. The job is to improve the drainage by digging out a trench and putting in another pipe. We will also be surfacing a section of the footpath. Please bring digging equipment. Wellies etc. Meet at 10 am or 9.45 If pos. See you there!

FIXIT Monday April 3rd

FixitPosted by Jan Wed, March 29, 2017 16:30:18
April 3rd FIXIT will be a return to Coomes Wood to firstly complete the steps,(10 more to do) and secondly, to dig a drainage channel under the dry-stone wall to get rid of water on the official right of way path.

I suggest we split into two groups to work on these tasks.

If there is time, there is cutback work further into the woods.

An additional job is to paint arrows on stone walls to indicate the official routes. Dave is bringing paint for this job. I shall make some arrow stensils.

Bring wellies, tools for step making. a crowbar would be useful for making a gap in the wall. spades and shovels for ditching and cutback tools may be required.

Dreadlocks Dave will be working with us. Tony is elsewhere.

See you at 10.00
