Tony wants us to do a job in Bolsterstone in February.
It is a path improvement job, some levelling, widening, cutback and 2or 3 steps
Bring cutting and digging tools.
It is up a paved private road leading to Cote House off Sunny Bank Road
As it is quite a long way to Bolsterstone, I suggest that 4 of us go in one car. David Hoggs is the biggest! So with David's ok it will be Lis, David K, me and David Hogg?
We will go back to The Coffin Route Path to tackle the next field in March!
If anyone would like to go to a meeting with Terry Howard about The Bradfield Heritage Trail Project it is on February 22nd at 10.30 at The Woodland Discovery Centre in Ecclesall Woods on Abbey Lane.
Any queries! Phone my mobile

I will book a table at The Old Horn High Bradfield again for a celebratory drink/lunch
Bring the usual digging tools. I will bring the newly acquired tools to show you and distribute.
Any queries call me.
Hopefully the weather will be kind this month!

The meeting with Terry Howard will be at 10.30 in the car park in Low Bradfield. I gather we are going to look at and discuss the jobs on the Bradfield Heritage Trail. Volunteers from Doncaster are joining us. There are 7 of us coming.
Our regular fixit on December 3rd is a return to the site off Stubbin Lane.
Tony and Sam want us to tamp down the turf we removed in order to expose the coffin trail. They are bringing tampers to do the job.
They want us to make the path wide enough for 2 people to pass!
I think we might divide into 2 groups, one tamping and the other starting work on the next field.
Please bring all the usual digging tools and if you have anytamping tools, bring them.
I have booked a table at The Old Horn, High Bradfield for us to have a Xmas meal/drink for 1.30

Terry Howard would like a meeting with the Fixit team on either 27th Tuesday or 28th Wednesday in Bradfield.
It would be from 10 am to 3 pm including lunch.
It is to discuss the Bradfield Heritage Project, and there may be other volunteers from Doncaster coming.
Please phone me in the next 2 days to tell me which day you prefer and/or whether you are available.

Decision made not to do pathwork/bridge work along Lodge Moor path following a reccy with Tony.
So! Something a bit different on Monday. We could call it a reclamation! Or even an archeological dig!
The work will be exposing an old 'coffin route' and just seeing whats hidden below the grass and brambles. We will try to find out more about it from local historians. If anyone fancies researching, that would be great!
The path is a right of way above the Loxley Road.
To get there go up Loxley Road, turn right past the Loxley Nurseries and continue until a turn onto Stubbing Lane. Follow up this lane until you see a dirt/farm track off to the left on a bend.
Go carefully to avoid ruts until you see a footpath sign on your left hand side. Parking on the grass to the right of the track.
Bring digging tools, spades, pick axes etc.
See you there between 9.45 and 10

I would like to send Tony Andrews our condolences following the recent death of his partner Celia. She died very suddenly a week last Saturday after just returning to Sheffield after a lovely holiday in North Wales. I am away until Saturday, so will most probablymiss the funeral, but if anyone can represent Fixit contact Susan Rushworth to find out when it is.
We will go back to The Three Merry Lads on Monday and do a cutback from the path we worked on last down to the bottom. We will also walk a bit of the top path and identify other sections which may need attention. I have in mind a plank crossing over the brook where the path goes very steeply down and up again.
See you in the car park with cutting tools at 9.30/9.45 on Monday 1st

September 3rd FIXIT will be at Lodge Moor.
We have permission to park at the Three Merry Lads pub car park and they will lend us a wheelbarrow to carry tools down to the path.
We will work to the right and left of the path immediatly below the pub.
The work to be done will be widening, levelling, root removal, a bit of cutback, and some step building? The path is ok in lots of places, but very poor in areas! We will discuss what needs doing before we make a start.
Tools. Spades, saws, crowbar or similar, hammer, drill ( Chris )
We should bag what we remove, as its a very well used path.
I have asked Tony for the materials we need for the steps.
How about very civilized coffee break in the pub.
Thanks Judy suggesting this as a job venue.

We are going to have a rest/holiday in August as no job has emerged. Please talk to walkers and see if we can come up with some worthwhile job for September.
